Our Voice...

How do we take all those inspirational ideas we learn in our yoga classes about the philosophical application to our lives and live our yoga? It has and will continue to be a journey for me as it will to you. I hope my words can comfort you and help you along that path...

44 years ago today I was thrust into this chaotic world. I don't have many memories from my past and the ones I do have tend to be more painful than not. My life has cycled thru so many ups and downs, that I begin to lose track of time periods when asked about better parts of my life.

The past six months have definitely pulled me into a downward spiral that achingly would not loosen its grip. But breath by breath, I unfurl. Its a slow process. A constant reminder !to exhale and let go. This too, shall pass. Its a cycle. A rebirth. Seems I have had so many of those in this lifetime. Many times I just want to give up.

The strained relationship with my husband is beginning to heal as we learn to appreciate each other as friends again... parents to this amazing child. That is all that matters. Seperate paths now but healing hearts. We want to be our best selves for her... and for ourselves.

I hate photographing my face. But today, this day of celebration I share with you...just me. As I...

We all have our stories... the sad details of some life changing event that we may often feel no one would understand so we keep them buried deep within our heart. But these emotions take a toll on our minds and eventually, our bodies. Suppressed emotions block energy lines in the body. If we could take an energy microscope, so to speak, and take a little peak inside...we may see a roadmap to our emotional histories.

We stuff and compress these emotions into little pockets of the mind and heart thinking one day we will deal with them. One day will be better than today. This compartmentalizing leads us to a life of survival. A life of just simple existence where we tend to be reactive instead of proactive in daily encounters. We may choose the path of least resistance or blame our circumstances on others and make excuses when things go wrong in our lives. We tend to listen only to answer, not to actually hear what is being said.

and we rarely speak our truth....

Do you fear change or have...

I devour books...my shelves are full. I need to buy more shelves. I will put that on my to do list. I can't seem to give most of them away. I share them but I always like to revisit my favorite books occasionally depending on my current needs. A dear friend told me about Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I cried during the first three pages...I am hooked.

Take a read and let's chat about it!!

"This is the story for people who follow their hearts and make their own rules…
people who get special pleasure out of doing something well, even if only for themselves…
people who know there’s more to this living than meets the eye:
flying higher and faster than they ever dreamed.

from Wikipedia...
"Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach, is a fable in novella form about a seagull learning about life and flight, and a homily about self-perfection. It was first published in 1970 as "Jonathan Livingston Seagull — a story." By the end of 1972, over a million copies were in print, Reader's Di...

How long has it been since you renewed YOU?

We focus all our energies on taking care of others, it leaves little time for ourselves.

One of the things I loved about being a classroom teacher, was I had a creative outlet for my inspirations.  This often translated over into cool ideas for my students that were inspiring and motivating.

Each time I create a new class series or workshop, I get to use my passions to share motivating lessons, hand outs and ideas for a home practice, with my yoga students.

Check out our new trading card series!

These step by step trading cards have lots of great Restorative Pose info. Whether you choose one pose to renew in before bedtime or create a whole series of poses, this deck is a fantastic tool for your well being!
